Bathroom Remodeling in Hudson & Bergen County, NJ

Most bathroom failures are waterproofing failures, and they show up two years after the job is done. Tile looks fine on day one whether or not there is a proper membrane behind it. The difference only appears when the unit below yours reports a stain on the ceiling — and in a condo or co-op, that becomes your liability.

We build bathrooms wet-side first: proper substrate, bonded waterproofing membrane, correct slope to drain, then tile. It costs more in labor and it is the reason our bathrooms do not come back.

Bathroom remodel with marble vanity top and patterned tile floor by KJ Commercial in Bergen County NJ

What a bathroom remodel with us includes

Full gut renovations

Down to studs and subfloor, with rotted framing and failed subfloor replaced rather than tiled over.

Tub-to-shower conversions

Removing the tub, reframing the curb or building a curbless entry, and rebuilding the drain and valve to suit the new layout.

Waterproofing done properly

Bonded sheet or liquid membrane over the full wet area, pre-slope and pan assembly at the shower floor, and a flood test before tile goes on.

Tile and stone

Wall and floor tile, niches, curbs, benches and thresholds, with layout planned so the cuts land in the least visible places.

Plumbing and ventilation

New valves, supply and waste, and a properly ducted exhaust fan vented to the outside — not into a ceiling cavity, which is how mold starts.

Fixtures and finish

Vanity, top, mirror, lighting, glass, accessories, and paint, with the punch list closed out before final invoice.

Common questions

Questions we get asked.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?

A standard full bathroom gut is about two to three weeks of site time once materials are on hand. Waterproofing, mortar and grout all need cure time, and rushing those is exactly how a bathroom fails early. Ordering delays on tile, glass or a vanity are the usual reason a job runs longer than that.

Do you handle bathrooms in high-rise condos?

Yes — a large portion of our work is in Hudson and Bergen high-rises. We are used to freight elevator reservations, protection requirements, working-hour restrictions, water shutoff coordination with building staff, and the COI and board approval paperwork that has to clear before anyone swings a hammer.

What does a bathroom remodel cost in Hudson County, NJ?

It depends almost entirely on scope and finish level rather than square footage, so we do not publish a single number. What we do is walk the space, write a line-item scope, and give you a fixed price with allowances stated in writing, so a change order is a real change and not a surprise.

Can you fix a shower that is leaking into the unit below?

Usually, yes — but we will tell you honestly whether a repair will hold. If the pan or membrane has failed, patching tile only buys a few months. We would rather diagnose the actual failure than sell you a cosmetic fix that leaves you liable to your downstairs neighbor.
