A full kitchen replacement built around an island that had to work as prep space, seating and the room's main light source at once. White shaker doors keep the cabinetry quiet so the quartz and the oak floor carry the room.
What the job involved
Cabinetry
White shaker fronts, full-height, with the run set out so the appliance gaps are exact rather than shimmed and caulked into place at the end.
Waterfall quartz
The counter turns the corner and runs to the floor on the island end. The mitre has to be cut and joined so the veining carries across the seam, which is the whole reason to do it.
Apron sink and plumbing
Farmhouse sink set into a modified base cabinet, with the supply and waste reworked to suit the new position.
Lighting
Glass globe pendants over the island on their own switch leg, so the island can be lit without lighting the whole room.
Flooring
Oak plank run continuous through the kitchen, no threshold strip breaking the floor at the doorway.
